Bio
Grant Reaves is a Co-Founder and current Managing Director for Stoic Equity Partners. Grant oversees the acquisition department, investor relations, portfolio management, and the firms debt relationships. Grant has been in commercial real estate his entire professional career and has always enjoyed the excitement of the industry. After studying business at Auburn University, Grant began his career in commercial real estate brokerage at the age of 22. Grant worked for a regional brokerage firm, Bellator Commercial, selling properties in all major asset classes. After 2 years in brokerage, Grant developed a niche of selling limited-service hospitality. During this time, Grant worked predominantly with owner/operators on the Gulf Coast transacting hotels in the $3MM to $9MM range. In 2018, he moved to Marcus & Millichap to work in their National Hospitality Group to be able to expand their geographic territory and client base. While at Marcus Grant was able to expand his skillset of underwriting and knowledge base of deal structuring. His time at the firm allowed him to work with more institutional buyers and sellers, giving him an introduction to real estate fund operations. Beginning in 2019 Grant started to think through and learn more about the process of starting his own commercial real estate investment firm. It was at this point that he and Jeremy Friedman reconnected after their time together at Bellator Commercial and started looking at opportunities to partner on. This partnership progressed through 2020 and ultimately became Stoic Equity Partners. Stoic has grown to 6 full-time employees and has purchased / developed over 1M SF of commercial property throughout the southeast. ?Stoic Equity Partners made its first investment in July 2021 in the self-storage sector. After buying or developing an additional 3 self-storage facilities, the firm changed direction to acquiring value-add flex industrial facilities. From 3Q22 to 3Q24 the firm purchased 12 flex industrial facilities totaling over $80MM. ?Grant resides in Fairhope, AL with his wife, Lawren, and son, William. They are members of the Church of the Apostles Eastern Shore.
