James H. Booth is a Kentucky-based businessman associated with R&J Development Company, LLC, a real estate entity operating in Debord and Warfield, where he serves in a principal role. He is also the founder of Booth Energy, a coal mining group with both surface and underground operations supplying major utility customers.
Booth began his career in coal mining while attending college and later expanded into multiple business lines, including energy, retail operations and real estate holdings across Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Morehead State University and has served in governance and advisory roles with organizations such as the University of Pikeville, Inez Deposit Bank and the Kentucky Coal Association, as well as previously serving on the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees.
