Jim began his real estate career with Forest City Enterprises, Inc. in December of 1977 after graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in Real Estate and Finance. At Forest City Enterprises, Jim worked as a Project Developer responsible for acquisition of land and packaging of HUD proposals for Senior Citizen Housing Developments throughout the Midwest.
In June of 1979, Jim joined the firm of Adler Galvin Rogers Inc./Grubb & Ellis where he specialized in industrial brokerage, development and management. He was responsible for the leasing and development of Englewood Center (180,000 s.f. industrial complex), Beta Center, Curtis Center and other industrial multi-tenant buildings throughout Greater Cleveland. Jim represented such companies as Prudential Insurance Co., Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Scott & Fetzer, Progressive Insurance Co. and Travelers Insurance Co., being responsible for the creation of marketing plans and the sale/leasing of their properties. While with AGR/Grubb & Ellis, Jim achieved top sales awards in 1984 through 1987.
In April of 1988, Jim ventured out as an independent real estate broker creating James S. Wolf Real Estate specializing in office and industrial brokerage and development. During this period, Jim represented such clients as McLaren-Hart Environment Engineering Corp., Avnet Computer Inc., National Computer Dynamics, Crawford Fitting Company, Fabri-Centers of America Inc., GAS Internal Revenue Service, Stargate Technologies, Tamaran Inc., Smythe Cramer Co., Property Associates, and Weston, Inc.
In February of 1991, James S. Wolf, along with four other principals, formed CRESCO, L.P., an acronym of Corporate Real Estate Services Co. The firm was formed to service the Greater Cleveland commercial market with a specific focus on the sale and leasing of industrial property, land development/sales, and tenant representation. Since the formation of CRESCO, Jim has been able to expand its client base to include Cleveland Works, DIGI Corporation, Flexalloy, Inc., First Industrial Realty Trust, Customized Transportation, Inc., Englehart Products, Inc., and American Tool to name a few.
In July of 1997, Jim resigned as President of CRESCO, L.P. to join The Geis Companies in the departments of sales, marketing, management, leasing and the development of real estate. As a Partner at The Geis Companies, Jim was responsible for acquisition and development while coordinating with the City of Parma to create the Parma Commerce Center. This fully developed, first class Industrial Park today is home to such companies as B.F. Goodrich, Eaton Corp., Cort Furniture, FDC Machine Tool, Marlin Manufacturing and The Cuyahoga County Board of Health. These companies and many more have helped to create over 2,000 new jobs for the community. With the assistance of Jim Wolf, The Geis Companies was able to develop 1.5 million square feet of new construction each year over the last several years.
In April of 2002, Jim resigned as a Partner with The Geis Companies to expand his opportunities in the real estate community by forming WOLF REAL ESTATE. This new company continues to represent The Geis Companies in the management, leasing and acquisition of its real estate holdings while also providing expertise to its new clients in the acquisition, development, and management of real estate.
