Jim Platis began his career in private industry with a family-owned retail chain, where he managed site selection, lease negotiations, zoning, and construction as the company grew from 3 to more than 40 locations. He later joined one of Canada’s largest full-service brokerage firms specializing in retail leasing, building a strong reputation across Western markets. Over his career, Jim has led expansion programs for national retailers including Sleep Country, Cineplex/Galaxy Cinemas, Enbridge Services, Running Room, Indigo Books, EB Games, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Free People. Since joining Greenwood Realty Group in 2002, he has played a key role in Sleep Country Canada’s growth, leasing over 90% of its 200+ stores nationwide. Jim holds a BA in Finance from the University of Western Ontario and is married with two children.
