Bio
Joseph J. Sitt is the Founder and Chairman of Thor Equities, a global real estate investment, development, and management firm headquartered in New York City. He established the firm in 1986, and it has since expanded to invest in and operate assets across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Thor Equities focuses on mixed-use developments, retail, hospitality, life sciences, logistics, and technology-oriented real estate, with an integrated platform spanning acquisitions, development, leasing, and asset management. His current focus includes emerging property sectors such as life sciences, creative office, and logistics real estate.
Prior to and alongside building Thor Equities, Joseph J. Sitt founded and grew several retail businesses, most notably Ashley Stewart, a women’s apparel chain that expanded to more than 380 stores across over 100 cities. He also participated in the acquisition and expansion of The Children’s Place retail chain. Earlier in his career, he began by investing in under-served urban retail locations, securing national tenants and developing properties that contributed to the revitalization of inner-city commercial corridors.
