Bio
Joshua King serves as Newmark’s Executive Vice Chairman of U.S. Capital Markets based in the New York City office. In addition to investment sales transactions, King has significant expertise in large/complex transactions involving trophy real estate, portfolios, and structured equity deals including joint ventures, preferred equity, partial interest sales, secondary interest sales, and equity capital raising (for individual deals, programmatic ventures and closed-end funds). King’s deal experience spans property asset classes including office, retail, industrial, multifamily and specialty property types including life sciences, medical office, student housing and data centers. He has specialized expertise and experience in cross-border transactions including the structural aspects of admitting offshore capital into U.S. real estate on a tax-efficient basis. Over the course of his career, King has been actively involved in the sourcing, underwriting and execution of over $150 billion in transactions volume. Prior to joining Newmark in February 2023, King worked at Cushman and Wakefield for seven years and held the position of Vice Chairman in the New York City Office. Prior to that, King worked at Eastdil Secured for nine years, most recently as a Managing Director in the New York City office and previous to Eastdil, worked for five years at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, a division of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he reported to the firm’s Chairman of Market and Investment Strategy for the United States. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of New York and a Registered Representative (Series 7, 63).
