Kurt Jensen is Senior Vice President, Industrial, Infrastructure, & Special Projects at Phoenix Investors. In this role, he focuses on acquiring commercial real estate for long-term investment purposes, including sourcing deals and tenants and managing transactions in the distressed, REO, and value-added space. He has participated in millions of square feet of industrial acquisitions and leasing and brings more than 30 years of entrepreneurial, management, and deal-making experience.
Prior to his work within the Phoenix Investors affiliate network, Kurt founded an Internet Service Provider in 1993 that grew to become the second-largest access provider in the Midwest before being sold. He subsequently served as Operations Manager at GTE Internetworking, a role he held through the company's successive acquisitions by Bell Atlantic, Genuity, and ultimately Level3 Communications, where his business unit generated over $250 million in annual revenue. Within other affiliates of Phoenix Investors, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of a telecommunications company that produced $20 million in profits in 18 months; as Chief Executive Officer of an internet-based entertainment shopping firm whose marketing strategy resulted in over a million members; as Executive Vice President of a petroleum distributor, where he managed the sale of one of the most complicated debtor cases faced by M&I Bank (Midwest); and as an executive for a publicly traded conglomerate, where he helped navigate the collapse of credit markets and the subsequent Great Recession.
