As a founder and partner of Spearhead Mortgage Company, Marcus brings more than 18 years of experience in commercial real estate and capital markets, ranging from portfolio management, underwriting, and originating new construction developments, asset acquisitions and portfolio restructuring. Marcus sources financing options for investors to acquire and develop commercial real estate.
Before devoting his full time to establishing Spearhead Mortgage, Marcus managed a national portfolio of ~$350 million in outstanding commercial real estate loans. Marcus served as a Vice President at Bank of the West (BNP Paribas) in their Commercial Real Estate department and before that as an SVP at Wells Fargo Bank in the commercial real estate department. As a lender, Marcus has underwritten, originated and managed commercial loan portfolios exceeding $600 million.
Marcus graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2007, where he earned a BS in Finance.
Marcus and his family reside in Auburn, Alabama. Marcus co-founded Spearhead with a vision to provide multifamily and commercial real estate investors access to creative lending options through relationships with conventional and unconventional national lenders. He strives to help investors make positive impact in our community while building meaningful relationships with investors and borrowers.
