I am lucky enough to be the third generation of investors, Realtors and property managers. My grandmother started investing in apartment buildings in Bayonne, New Jersey in the 60’s while my grandfather was stationed there while serving in the US Navy. My grandparents built a portfolio of over 20 various use properties, located in New Jersey, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana. Growing up, my dad was a contractor, and my mother was and still is and is a licensed Realtor and Property Manager in Tennessee and Florida. I’ve had the privilege of growing up in the industry. From collecting rent, to fixing copper pipes. Before I was 10 my grandmother was teaching me creative finance (that might as well have been a different language to me at the time). By 18 I worked alongside my mother in HOA management for high-rise beachside condominiums. This wealth of on-the-job training has been invaluable in my career today.
