Michael MacKinnon is Managing Director of Heidner Properties Inc., based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. A licensed civil engineer, he leads project management for the firm, applying his engineering background to land acquisition, due diligence, land use entitlement, and construction management across commercial real estate development projects throughout the United States. Prior to joining Heidner Properties, MacKinnon served Director of Development for Bluestone Healthcare Partners, where he managed ground-up construction of build-to-suit medical office, retail, and fuel center projects nationally, and led project management teams through complex land development challenges including wetland and floodplain management, geotechnical, environmental, and highway access issues. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Ryan Companies, where he managed design, due diligence, and permitting and entitlement for multiple projects including large industrial parks and a medical office development, and at Kimley-Horn and Associates, where he designed and managed zoning entitlements for retail fuel and auto parts projects across the Midwest and Texas.
