Mike Shorter serves as Vice President of Construction in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania region. Mr. Shorter has more than 25 years of experience in property evaluation, development, construction management, and design. He has managed over $300 million in new construction on various Mill Creek multifamily projects, delivering over 1,700 new apartment homes. Responsibilities include design, development, risk analyses, budget & schedule preparation, scope development, value engineering, bidding, contracting, and day-to-day management of construction activities and team.
Prior to joining Mill Creek, Mr. Shorter conducted over 300 environmental studies and site feasibility analyses of contaminated sites in the Tri-State area. This culminated in the development of environmental clean-up strategies, work plans, estimates, and stewardship obligations. He also led a team of multi-disciplined professionals conducting fatal flaw analyses, land surveys, traffic studies, and geotechnical investigations for over thirty perspective school sites in New Jersey.
Mr. Shorter holds a Bachelor of Science from Susquehanna University. He donates his time and talents to assisting opportunity youth enrolled in Youthbuild, as well as providing free home repair in the Northwest section of Philadelphia as part of The Philadelphia Project.
