Bio
Rob is a real estate broker/developer licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He is a graduate of East Carolina University and holds the distinguished CCIM designation. After a brief career in the environmental industry, in 1992 he joined his family’s real estate business, MECA Properties, and was the third generation of Pressley’s to be affiliated with that firm.
Today, Rob is the President and CEO of MECA Commercial Real Estate, which grew out of that original family business. MECA Commercial has multiple offices and provides development, brokerage and property management services throughout the Carolinas.
During his career, Rob has completed thousands of transactions in the areas of land, investment, retail, office and industrial real estate. His clients include banks, national companies, small and large corporate entities, investors, developers, non-profits and various governmental entities.
As a developer, Rob has been involved in the development of land, mixed use and adaptive reuse projects, single tenant properties and build to suits for corporate clients. He was, for over 20 years, very involved in MECA’s redevelopment of the Historic South End neighborhood.
He is a current and/or past member of CRCBR, NCAR, ULI, CNU, ICSC and CCIM Institute.
As a volunteer, Rob is a Past President of the 1000+ member Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors where he has been an active member since its inception, a Past President and recipient of their Industry Leadership Award (former Realtor of the Year Award). He is a current and/or past member of CRCBR, NCAR, ULI, CNU, ICSC and CCIM Institute.
In addition to his service to the real estate industry, Rob has been an active member of a number of non-profit community organizations such as Boy Scouts, Community School of the Arts, Charlotte Chamber, Metrolina Business Council and Charlotte’s City Committee. He is a past recipient of Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award. He is a former member of Belmont, NC’s Planning and Zoning Board and currently serves as President of Belmont Trolley, Inc.
Rob is married to wife Kathy and together, with their five children, lives in Charlotte, NC.
