J. Scott Hogan serves as Chief Financial Officer of Whitestone REIT, a publicly traded REIT focused on open-air, convenience-oriented retail centers in high-growth Sun Belt markets. In his current role, Hogan oversees Whitestone’s financial strategy, including financial reporting, accounting policy, internal controls, capital stewardship, and compliance with SEC reporting requirements. He is responsible for supporting balance sheet management, liquidity planning, and financial disclosures provided to investors and analysts. Hogan was appointed Chief Financial Officer in January 2022, following more than a decade of service in senior financial leadership roles within the company.
Hogan joined Whitestone REIT in 2008 and previously served as Vice President, Controller, where he oversaw accounting operations, SEC reporting, and internal controls for the REIT. Prior to Whitestone, he held financial leadership roles as Controller at Gexa Energy and SEC Reporting Manager at Stewart & Stevenson, building expertise in public company accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial governance. Earlier in his career, Hogan held progressively senior accounting roles at Cingular, Six Flags Entertainment, and Atlantia Offshore, providing a broad foundation across corporate accounting and financial reporting prior to moving into REIT-specific leadership. His career reflects more than two decades of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and public-company finance.
