Century Companies’ beginnings date back to 1979 when Larry Maxwell developed his first active-adult manufactured housing community in Winter Haven, Florida. Today, still family owned and operated, the company owns and manages a growing portfolio of 15 manufactured housing communities (CRF Communities), 17 storage facilities (Century Storage, Century Boat & RV Storage, and Century Truck Parking) and 20 retail shopping centers (Century Retail), along with a small portfolio of apartment complexes (600 units total). The properties are all located in Central Florida near our downtown Lakeland corporate offices, allowing for effective hands-on management and leasing. Based in Lakeland, Florida, Century Retail currently oversees 25 properties in its portfolio consisting of over 600,000 square feet. In addition to a talented staff at Century Retail, our corporate office houses an experienced group of individuals that work together on all of Century Companies' commercial real estate holdings, including retiree manufactured home communities, self-storage facilities, and apartment complexes. This diverse mix allows Century Retail to draw from a deep resource base when the need arises.
