HOM Furniture is a privately held American furniture retailer headquartered in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The company traces its roots to 1973 when founder Wayne Johansen established JC Imports, a wholesale and retail gift business. In 1979, the business expanded into waterbed sales under the Waterbed Room brand, later evolving into HOM Oak & Leather and Total Bedroom. These brands merged in 1996 to form HOM Furniture, offering a full line of home furnishings. Over the years, HOM acquired Gabberts Design Studio & Fine Furniture in 2008 and launched its discount division, DOCK86, in 2010. Today, HOM operates multiple locations across Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The company remains privately owned and is recognized as one of the largest furniture retailers in the Upper Midwest.
