The Jeffries LLC began with the purchase of the Mondry Cleaners business by Virginia Jeffries in 1963. Mrs. Jeffries made a "cold call" to Mr. Mondry for the purchase of his laundry processing plant at 769 Fisher Rd. Fortunately, Mr. Mondry in the weeks just prior to her call, had concluded a new union labor agreement and was unhappy. The negotiations and sale were quickly consummated. Mapp & Marr architects and Al Thomas builder were engaged to accomplish Mrs. Jeffries vision of converting the Mondry factory to become both retail and commercial properties. The complex was name the Fisher Mews to reflect the conversion of garage to office space as frequently done in London England.
