Weston is a privately held industrial real estate owner and operator founded in 1972 by Anthony J. Asher. The company began by acquiring and redeveloping older warehouses in Cleveland, Ohio, transforming them into multi-tenant facilities. Over five decades, Weston has grown its portfolio to approximately 25 million square feet across more than 200 properties in 8 states, serving around 900 tenants. The company operates offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky.
Weston's investment approach centers on acquiring existing Class B industrial buildings and repositioning them through capital improvements and active asset management. The portfolio consists primarily of warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing facilities, with a focus on secondary markets in the Midwest and Southeast United States. The company targets properties ranging from 100,000 to over 1,000,000 square feet, with transaction sizes between $15 million and $250 million.
In February 2020, Weston completed its largest acquisition to date, purchasing the Carolina Industrial Properties portfolio comprising 37 buildings and 5.5 million square feet across 16 counties in South Carolina, representing the largest single real estate transaction in South Carolina in at least a decade. The following year, in 2021, Weston acquired two former Ford Motor Co. plants totaling over 4.5 million square feet in Brook Park and Walton Hills, Ohio, which are being redeveloped into industrial hubs. These acquisitions solidified the company's expansion beyond its Northeast Ohio base into high-growth manufacturing markets. The firm's geographic footprint now concentrates heavily in Ohio, with expanding holdings in South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Charlotte markets.
