Senior Staff Writer
Paul Owers joined Homes.com in 2024 and covers the U.S. housing market from Atlanta. A South Florida native, he covered residential real estate at the Sun Sentinel from 2005 to 2017. He wrote about the region's housing boom and bust, the worst downturn since the Great Depression. Paul has owned four homes, including the bungalow in which he was raised. He closed on another house in what turned out to be a pricing peak in 2005. Although it's difficult for anyone to time the housing market, he fared far better in 2021, buying his current townhouse when prices were stable and interest rates below 3%.
