At LoopNet, our approach to content is to provide articles that are either educational or inspirational; ideally, though, our best articles are both.

We also think that there’s nothing more inspirational, and perhaps even educational, about hearing from someone who’s been in your exact position before; someone who was sitting on the edge of the cliff or the sidelines, or whatever cliché you want to employ, and decided to take that leap, to get in the game and to stop thinking about becoming involved in commercial real estate and actually do it.

That’s why we’re asking our readers to help their fellow would-be entrepreneurs by sharing their real estate stories. Specifically, for this inaugural feature in what is set to become an ongoing series, we want to hear about your initial foray into the world of investing in CRE. In other words, tell us about your first commercial real estate investment. What was the opportunity you saw? What were the challenges you faced? And how did you overcome them?
