We are a family owned business that was started by Dominic DeFranco in 1916. In 1952 De Franco & Sons was the first tomato re-packer on the West Coast to package tomatoes in tube trays. Third generation is now running day to day operations, Paul, Richard and Jerry De Franco, a combine 80 years of experience. Dominic & Carmela De Franco, Italian Immigrants who came to this country in the early 1900‘s. Victor- John- Sam & Theresa lived in in San Francisco California In 1924 & Lodi, California. The family also spent time in the Stockton area in the agricultural business of farming & packing table grapes. From San Francisco, the family moved to Boston Massachusetts. There, our family had a great fondness for the time spent in Boston. It was the east coast culture! Walking past the Jewish butcher shop to sneak a peak at the rabbi who was praying over the freshly killed, making sure it was kosher.
