NoMa BID is seeking a dynamic operator to anchor Alethia Tanner Park, one of most exciting new outdoor spaces in the city. The pavilion is a stylish service structure that includes a finished bathroom and a large NanaWall window that is the service interface between customers and staff. The pavilion is located in the south plaza of Alethia Tanner Park – a paved area entered through an allèe of elm trees that includes plentiful seating. Tanner Park, which delivered in 2020, is situated on the Metropolitan Branch Trail and features a dog park, a playground, and a large event lawn and stage area. The DC Walls Mural Festival annually refreshes a 900 foot wall of murals at Tanner Park. There are more than 1,600 apartments and rowhomes within a 500 foot walk of Tanner Park, most of which are brand new (2021) and leasing up fast. Tanner Park event spaces will be regularly programmed by the NoMa Business Improvement District (BID), among other entities. In 2022, the NoMa BID plans to hold at least 35 events, including: CiNoMatic, NoMa’s outdoor movie series that will run 12 weekday nights annually, as well as Pumpkin Palooza and Alethia Tanner Day. These events bring as many as 2,000 guests to the park. Subject to proper licensing from the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration, the F&B Partner will be allowed to sell beer and wine from the Tanner Park pavilion.
