The Baltimore Eagle is an iconic leather bar and entertainment venue catering to the leather, fetish, and LGBT communities. Over its proud 30-year history, The Eagle has become known as an innovative, edgy, fun destination for newcomers, while preserving its culture and attitude that has attracted guests from all over the world. The Eagle is located at 2022 North Charles Street in Baltimore's Station North Arts & Entertainment District, Baltimore's fastest appreciating neighborhood*. Completely razed and reconstructed in 2015, the Eagle’s grand re-opening made international media headlines. The newly developed, 11,000 square foot space houses a full-service, street-level tavern and restaurant, a nightclub, multiple bars, retail space, assembly and performance space, a large outdoor courtyard, plus an entire liquor store.
Station North has a strong community vision plan for redevelopment. By promoting and supporting artists and cultural organizations in the District, Station North Arts & Entertainment District, Inc. - the nonprofit organization that manages the District - seeks to create a vibrant neighborhood where arts, artists and entertainment venues flourish in the midst an economically diverse community with an abundance of healthy residential, retail and commercial offerings. The vision plan is supported by generous grants from National Endowment for the Arts, William G. Baker Jr. Memorial Fund, France-Merrick Foundation, Goldseker Foundation, Lockhart Vaughan Foundation, and individual contributions.
Rich in diversity and tradition, The Charles North Arts & Entertainment District has a history as both a commercial and residential area in Baltimore. It is home to cultural and historic gems like the Charles Theater and Penn Station, and well-known for its mix of ethnic restaurants, white-collar professional firms, and non-profits contained in its granite and brick streetscape. Small and large 19th and 20th century townhomes can be found throughout the District, many with historic character and ornate renovations.
