TXDOT will be expanding the highway mainly to the east of this location to accommodate all the traffic and future traffic being generated by the fast housing growth in this area. The road work will improve this intersection along with a controlled signal light. Krum is located in Denton county, one of the fastest growing counties in Texas. New residents are moving to this area given all the new housing and subdivisions underway. The high school is currently 4A and growing towards 5A in the near future. Old Town zoning which allows most uses and residential zoning is also allowed as a combination in Old Town Krum.
