I'm happy to make it happen, but the cost is on you. We've been here 9 years and counting. Three rules- 1) No dust 2) No fumes 3) No excessive noise. If you're gonna listen to music, please use headphones, but the occasional music is probably necessary. If you have assistants or want to share space, 2 extra persons max, and they need to be introduced right away. We are painters, screen printers, ceramicists, glass artists, photographers, vintage furniture dealers, writers and clothing designers. I have a 6000ft2 metal and wood fabrication studio next door, which can be pretty convenient for some tenants. Wall heights are 9-15' with open ceilings, so as long as everyone follows these three basic rules then everyone is happy. Sound, smells and dust tend to spread pretty quickly, so if you think you'd be providing those things to the atmosphere then you need not apply. (6) Huge skylights for lots of daytime natural light. Lots of indoor plant life and a lovely front, gated area with practically a botanical garden of cool cacti and succulents. Small area in front of loading dock for outdoor work. Quiet little industrial neighborhood just east of DTLA off the 10 near Cal State LA. Lots of street parking, relatively clean streets and quite safe. There has not been a violent episode out there in our neighborhood in 10 years, that I'm aware of. I know everyone out there and we have a great relationship with the neighborhood. There are several other artist studios on our street and several more just a block or two away. If you are interested please tell me about yourself and your use for the space. A brief studio history if you have one, a CV (if you have one), a work resume (if you have one), and photos of your work must be included in your follow-up email. If you don't want to share all that info then it's not likely you'll be selected. If you're seeing this then it's still available, please do not ask.
