The Miles Mercantile Store built in 1925 stands next to the Historic Ramona Town Hall 1894. Built by Henry Miles, it has poured concrete walls, 2 commercial store fronts of approx 1400sf, and 2 residential units of approx. 500 and 800 sf. It has 3 electric meters, 1 water meter, and approx 9 parking spaces in back. The center division wall can be removed. History: Henry Alfred Miles, of Illinois, came to Ramona in 1899 where he bought many town lots and two businesses on Main Street including the Ramona Hotel on the corner of 7th and Main. He then built the Miles House in 1912 that exists today next to Miles Mercantile Store. In 1914 he added a second story onto the Ramona Hotel in anticipation of new business resulting from the Pan American Exposition in San Diego in 1915. This building became known as the Kenilworth Inn. The Kenilworth Inn was destroyed by fire in 1943 and never rebuilt.
