Originally the site of Gordon's Shoes. The property is the corner building (shorter one). In the heyday of the Hill District this intersection of Centre Ave and Kirkpatrick St was a vibrant, colorful gathering place. Merchants, restaurants, nightclubs and more lined the streets and in the center of everything was a lively streetcar stop that would take people in every direction. Today the intersection of Centre and Kirkpatrick is still a crossroads, leading to downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland and the Southside. Now that the neighborhood has been designated as a Qualified Opportunity Zone there are tax advantages for redeveloping the area. You will want to discuss those benefits with your accountant.
