A high waisted masonry Dividend Building contributes to the important pine street group of classic post modern office buildings. Although the building is constructed in a variety of architectural styles (including gothic, federal, georgian and renaissance) the overall harmony achieved by this built wall is very admirable. The stoic base relates to that of the selbach and deans building by lewis hobart; the grey facade foreshadows the old bank of america building by george kelham. Lastly, the facades of this and the selbach and deans buildings create an interesting pedestrian wall on leidesdorff street. 354 Pine was built on the site of the previous dividend building, lost in the quake.
