SOHO - LYON 7 Gerland is a neighborhood in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, close to the Presqu’Île and its city center. Directly connected to the Part-Dieu train station and the Confluence district through numerous public transport options, the area is one of the major urban projects of the metropolis.
The largest arrondissement in Lyon stretches along the left bank of the Rhône. Avenue Berthelot, one of its main thoroughfares, divides the 7th into two distinct neighborhoods: Guillotière (to the north) and Gerland (to the south). In addition to buses, users of the Lyon Public Transport (TCL) can take metro line B, which passes through the Part-Dieu station, line D, and tram lines T1 and T2 (the latter passing through Confluence and the Perrache station).
The Jean Macé SNCF station was opened at the end of 2009 to relieve congestion at the PERRACHE and PART DIEU stations. The Lyon-Guillotière station is reserved for freight. A key element of sustainable development, the ÉDOUARD HERRIOT port, located at the extreme south of the area, is the leading French port in the container sector.
Gerland is perfectly served by a comprehensive multimodal public transport hub: the TER Jean Macé station, tram, and bus, as well as metro line B directly connecting to Part Dieu. Today, Gerland is connected to the Perrache station and Confluence by tram line T1, the Raymond Barre bridge, and the Pasteur bridge. The area benefits from a park-and-ride facility at the foot of the Gerland metro. The extension of metro line B allows access to the commune of Oullins in just 2 minutes.
The Gerland neighborhood has direct access to the Lyon ring road and highways A6 and A7.
