SOHO - LYON 7
Gerland is a district in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, close to the Presqu'Île and its city center. Linked directly to the Part-Dieu train station and the Confluence district thanks to numerous public transport, the district is one of the major urban projects of the city.
The largest district of Lyon extends on the left bank of the Rhône. Avenue Berthelot, one of its main axes, separates the 7th into two very distinct districts: La Guillotière (to the north) and Gerland (to the south). In addition to buses, Transports en Commun Lyonnais (TCL) users can take metro line B, which passes through Part-Dieu station, line D and tram T1 and T2 (the latter passing through Confluence and Perrache station).
The Jean Macé SNCF station was opened at the end of 2009 to relieve congestion at the PERRACHE and PART DIEU stations. The Lyon-Guillotière station is reserved for freight. A key element of sustainable development, the port ÉDOUARD HERRIOT, located in the extreme south of the sector, is the leading French port in the field of containers.
Gerland is perfectly served thanks to a complete multimodal public transport hub: the Jean Macé TER station, tram and bus and metro line B directly connecting Part Dieu. Today Gerland is connected to Perrache station and Confluence by the T1 tram, the Raymond Barre bridge and the Pasteur bridge.
The sector benefits from a park and ride at the foot of the Gerland metro station. The extension of metro B allows access to the town of Oullins in just 2 minutes
The Gerland district has direct access to the Lyon ring road and to the A6 and A7 motorways.
